Personal Training and Nutrition with Amy Turner BSc(Hons), PgDip, HN 

·        Weight Loss.  It is important to maintain a healthy body weight for your height and build.  We all have a different genetic makeup and require specific training and dietary needs.  By achieving a healthy body weight you can reduce the risk of cardiovascular related disease, diabetes, irregular sleep patterns and other related conditions.

·        Nutritional Advice.  Following a healthy dietary plan will help you achieve your results quicker and help you lead a higher quality of life.  Nutritionally rich foods are beneficial for the whole body; heart, lungs, bowels, hair, skin, nails.  Eating a balanced diet with reduced fat will fast track your desired results and keep you mentally alert.

·        Sport-Specific Training. Amy focuses on specific movements and muscles required in many sports, while concentrating on functional moves that will aid and improve your performance.  This will also reduce the risk of injury through your training schedule.  Sports included:  soccer, cricket, squash, tennis, golf, running, swimming and many others.

·        Program Design.  Amy will provide programs specific to your required needs and goals.  These will be fun and effective.  There will be progressive exercises as you increase in ability, strength and confidence.  She will also alter programs allowing the body to adapt without overtraining and to avoid monotony!

·        Clinical Assessment.  It is important to take measurements prior to starting a new exercise regime to allow for comparison and use as a motivational tool to view our progress.  These will incorporate a brief medical history, goal orientation, movement analysis, blood pressure test, fitness test, waist-hip ratio, weight, BMI, Body Fat % and specific Heart Rate Zone calculations.

·        Training in Alternative Environments.  At ASHLAN Clinic, we provide the opportunity to train in our professional movement studio, or at an outdoors location.  This can be beneficial in terms of motivation for many clients.  You can train in local parks, beaches and still have a great, effective workout and can reduce the repetitiveness of working out in a gym environment.

·        Pre/Post Natal Care.  Having a baby places a huge request on the body in terms of physiological changes that occur.  Amy provides safe and effective training tips and programs for the mother-to-be who may not have been training prior to their pregnancy.  She will also support the nutritional needs for both mommy and baby.  Post natal training is very important as the body will be attempting to recover and return to its original condition.  Nutritional advice will be provided and a recovery program for best results.

·        Motivational and Mental Support.  When trying to achieve a personal goal, whatever it may be, it can be extremely taxing on the mind and body.  Amy will incorporate motivational tools throughout your journey with added incentives when targets are met.

NOTE: ALL NEW PERSONAL TRAINING/NUTRITION CLIENTS MUST UNDERGO AN INITIAL CONSULTATION SESSION WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 6OMINS, PRIOR TO STARTING A NEW FITNESS AND NUTRITION PROGRAM.
